Anyways, today we took the metro to see Notre Dame and a lot of places that tourists generally miss like Paris' first restaurant, one of Picasso's houses, the town's oldest clock (which was under a major renovation so I couldn't take any pretty pictures) and the courtyard where the first royal palace was before it got demolished centuries ago.
One thing that I've noticed that I love about Paris is people take their dogs everywhere! More so than in the US and the majority of the dogs are bigger dogs like standard poodles or Dalmatians. I was in a Paris dress store, just browsing of course :) but a woman walked in with her Rottweiler and it was the sweetest dog. I'm going to start taking more photos of all the dogs. However, the owners have sub-par personalities so they will most likely not take kindly to me taking photos of their dog.
On a different note, I had THE BEST ice cream I have ever had in my life- salted caramel from the cutest little walk up ice cream window. I will without a doubt be returning so I can try every flavor!
I still can't believe I am in Paris. When you're walking around you instantly understand why Paris is nicknamed the city of love- everything about it is so romantically beautiful and you can't help but be in a good mood. A few friends and I went out to some local pubs last night and I got talked into dancing with a Parisian... It wasn't regular dancing though, we were doing the tango! I am so uncoordinated, but he was gracious. Or maybe I am actually a really good tango partner, who knows?
This picture is a trend that started about 2 years ago. Married couples write their names on the lock, lock the lock on a bridge that crosses the Seine, and then they throw the key in the river. I think it's adorable, but our professor didn't quite like the idea. The locks are literally EVERYWHERE!
Well I'm off to bed. Another day, another beautiful walk!
